Not finding the time to do something is just an excuse. After all, if you cannot find time to blog then you cannot technically find time for any distraction in your day, in which case your phone should stay in your pocket all day until it rings (you know it won’t). Here are a few tips for those people who have a terminal case of the excuses-blues.
1 – Make a habit out of blogging
The best way to get motivation for anything is to make a habit out of it. If you keep doing something habitually then it turns from a routine to a compulsion. The mention of your Smartphone in the introduction was no action. You will always see people pull their phone out of their pocket, look at it, and put it back. It serves no purpose, but because they have habitually looked at their phone with no discernible motive for so long they are now habit-struck and take out their phones as a compulsion.
You can do this your way and build positive habits. Some people build the habit of running every morning, though let’s not go nuts, all in all you should break your bad compulsions and start building some positive habits.
2 – Pay someone else to do your writing for you
Let us not forget the American way. Homer Simpson summed it up perfectly in the episode, “Trash of the Titans” when he said, “Can’t someone else do it?” It is all well and good writing your own article, but it is certainly a lot easier and a lot more fuss free if you pay someone else to do it.
Plus, there is a certain amount of logic to the situation. You are probably too tied down and out of time because you work so hard, so it only makes sense that you hire someone to write your blog for you.
3 – Make blogging fun so that you want to find time to blog
If you can manage to make it fun then you are going to notice a whole new side to your blogging. It will suddenly become fun, and people can always make time for fun (just look at all the trouble men go through the get sex). Find a way of making it fun, and if you cannot then you have to examine your real motivation for actually doing your blog in the first place.
4 – Use a blog scheduling tool and write lots when you have the chance
There are times when you are going to be stood up by a new lover, and you will have plenty of time to yourself. When this happens it is up to you to write your blog posts in advance, and do quite a few of them too. If you do this then you get the opportunity to stock up your blog posts. You will not have to find time to blog over the next few weeks.
5 – Write notes on your Smartphone through the week
This just helps you write your posts a little quicker. You take the time to write a few notes and by the end of the week you are full of great ideas that you can use. It will take you a very short space of time to finish your work because you have so much to write about that you do not need to think. Thinking is what takes up most of our time. If you can create a piece without having to think about it too much in advance and during, then you can get it done a lot faster.
6 – Rewrite other people’s posts if you get desperate
This is one of those things you can do if you get desperate and your deadline is fast approaching. You can pick out a bunch of topics online and find a few interesting blog posts. You then copy their ideas and such and write about it for your own blog. You can even mix up the ideas they have with another piece you read and work from that too. This is only something you do if you really have no time to think up your own ideas.
7 – Blog less frequently if you are truly having trouble
You may not have much time because you are blogging too often. There are still people to this day that post to one blog more than once per week. Even once per week is a little rough as I the means you have to write fifty two blog posts per year and that is a lot. You can cut your blogging back to once every fortnight or once every month if you wish. So long as you do it routinely and do not switch from months to weeks as and when you feel like it, then you will be okay and your fans will feel comfortable with what’s happening.
